General Motors: Du Pont's Tough OD Case

Despite the possession of proven, concrete solutions for well-document ed problems at General Motors and the occupation of high positions in the company, a team of seasoned Du Pont executives, representing a sizeable Du Pont equity interest, made little impact upon General Motors practices over a period of several years. It was only after economic disaster struck the company and its president was replaced that their organizational reforms prevailed.
